How we got passionate about coffee
Located in Melbourne the coffee capital of the world, Passion4coffee is tucked away in the beautiful eastern suburbs. Ian Johnson founded Passion4coffee in 2007. Ian has extensive expertise and has been involved in nearly every aspect of the coffee industry. He started his career as a coffee machine mechanic; he then branched out and opened his own coffee machine engineering business, supplying coffee and machines in the business-to-business sector supplying large public and private sector clients.
As the company grew, Ian furthered his coffee knowledge by progressing and opening his own roasting firm. He imported fairly traded green beans from all over the world and became passionate about producing a diverse range of speciality coffee single origin and also blends. Which led on to opening and running a small chain of coffee shops. During this time he also branched out into online sales running a Internet based company for coffee machines
His passion for the coffee industry and desire to work closely with farmers led him to start trading ethically imported coffee dealing direct with farmers in over 10 countries. He works closely with organisations such as the House of the Heroes in the Philippines and is on the board of directors for a sustainable coffee partnership charity in the Philippines called Heroica Coffee.
